PRLog -- Donovan Thompson, Ph.D, Senior Researcher II for Nouryon Chemicals has been named Chair of the STEM Committee for the Newark Career Technical Education Network. Dr. Thompson serves as a Scientist with Nouryon, where he leads New Product Innovation in Personal Care, Agriculture, Lubricants and Fuels, Home Care and Oil Field markets. Thompson has 21 publications and scientific presentations, holds 3 Patents, and 1 commercial product. He holds an Innovation Leadership Certificate from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and has conducted research through the National Science Foundation during his academic studies at Georgia Southern University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Graz Institute of Technology (Graz, Austria), and the University of Florida. Some of his awards include: Florida Education-McKnight Dissertation Fellowship, UF International Research Abroad Scholarship, University of Florida Graduate School Scholarship, Coca-Cola Scholarship, Colgate-Palmolive Award, SMART Science Award, Agape Family Worship Center "2016 Men Who Rock" Award, AkzoNobel 2017 Early Scientist Award, Georgia Southern University 40 under 40 Award, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity New Brunswick Alumni (NBA) Chapter President's Award, and New Brunswick (NJ) Alumni Chapter Mentorship Award. Thompson also serves as a Chemistry Professor at Union County College (Cranford, NJ). He is a mentor for the Kappa League of New Brunswick Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and serves as a judge for numerous high school and college science fairs with the American Chemical Society of New Jersey.
