5 years later, second OLCC licensed dispensary in Oregon celebrates anniversary

ASHLAND, Ore. - Feb. 11, 2020 - PRLog -- On Friday, Feb. 14, Southern Oregon dispensary Breeze Botanicals (https://www.breezebotanicals.com/) located at 1526 Siskiyou Blvd., in Ashland has a little something extra sweet to celebrate on Valentine's Day. The second OLCC-licensed dispensary in the state of Oregon is celebrating its fifth year in business.

"Opening a second location in Ashland was an absolute dream for us," said Brie Malarkey, CEO of Breeze Botanicals. "It hasn't been an easy road, but it's incredible to be here five years later. We are so grateful to the Southern Oregon community for all the love and support they've shown us."

Breeze Botanicals in Gold Hill and Ashland became the first and second OLCC licensed recreational cannabis dispensaries in the entire state of Oregon. Their Gold Hill location faced significant opposition when originally opening as a medical dispensary in 2014, but with perseverance and patience, they were able to show their new community that they were a positive addition.

"Interestingly, Ashland was actually our first choice of locations, but the landlords at the time were weary of medical cannabis dispensaries," said Malarkey. "Then after the voters legalized cannabis statewide we were personally invited to open a second location in Ashland."

The Ashland location alone has raised more than $777,000 in taxes for the Oregon Department of Revenue and an additional $23,000 for the city of Ashland. Breeze Botanicals has multiple full-time employees and offers a living wage and health benefits. In addition, the dispensary was the first cannabis company to join the Ashland Chamber of Commerce.

Breeze Botanicals will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 14th, and will feature local vendors, food, music, special deals, and raffles. Founder and CEO Brie Malarkey and Clinical Herbalist Taylor Appal will be on site throughout the day to answer questions and meet with customers.
