Poppi The Okapi - Children's book

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 10, 2020 - PRLog -- Darryl Silver is running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for his debut book Poppi The Okapi. Poppi the Okapi lives in a zoo, She looks like lots of animals who live there too.  On this adventure she discovers herself. This book has lots of guessing, guessing for the kids, So come take this journey with Poppi and her friends. You will love it, love it till it ends!

"In my early career I was blessed to have great mentors. One in particular told me "write what you know about better than life itself". What this means is write about what you know and it will come out honest and real. I truly believe this. When my kids were little I used to take them to the zoo almost every weekend.  I did this to give my wife a break as she took care of the kids during the weekdays. It was at this time that I became fascinated by the okapi. I was actually more obsessed with the word and I created a rhyming game that my children and I used to play when we would go there. This game continues even today as they are all grown up. I always knew that this would make a great children's book and one day I just had to get it out of my head and down on paper." says Darryl.

Poppi was born out of the need for her to find out just who she was. This is her adventure that takes her all around the town she lives and brings her in contact with lots of different friends who all help her come to realize her sense of self.  You know. With rhymes, in a fun way. One of the great things about the book is that with each segment of the story the reader gets to guess the answer to a rhyming riddle. The more the child reads the book the more they remember the answer and feel good about themselves for getting it right.

Darryl says, "I think it is important for people to back projects of independent authors. Having had success in the TV business I know how hard it is to come up with an original idea and not only write it but to sell it and see it made and watched by the masses."
