Looking to Reinvigorate, Redesign and Beautify Your Fireplace? Color Craftsmen Can Make it a Reality
Color Craftsmen, based out of St Louis, MO, is in the business of fireplace alterations and owner John Bubenik has vast experience in the field; he specializes in demolition-free fireplace makeovers utilizing artistic, creative, and affordable solutions to give you the centerpiece for your living room that you've always wanted.
"What we do is change the appearance of fireplaces, and the main challenge we have is that most people feel that fireplaces are permanent fixtures that can't be changed. However, we employ techniques and products that the general public may not be aware of," he said. "Someone might see only limited options for change if they have a brick fireplace, for example, but we could do many different things to drastically change its appearance, and generally for less than most people would expect."
Bubenik works with clients, communicating with them extensively over what they do and do not like about their existing fireplace, looking at photos of the client's current set-up, and providing feedback and suggestions on how to improve things, including samples and even PhotoShop mock-ups. Often, Bubenik is able to offer an estimate before stepping foot in their home.
"Many people suppose that there's nothing to be done about their fireplaces, but I want to tell them not to despair - there's hope! There are all different kinds of things that can be done at all different price points from utilizing the elements present to starting over from scratch."
When it comes to the unique nature of the Color Craftsmen's business, Bubenik noted that he would encourage people to reach out and ask him questions, as opposed to assuming that they're stuck with their fireplace as-is.
"A fireplace is such an eye-catcher, and it really does impart a 'feel' to a room," he said. "If somebody doesn't like theirs, the whole room is off. They paid for that room when they bought the house but it's not giving them the ambiance they want. If we can tailor it so that it fits 'home sweet home' - according to their definition - the whole room fits better for them."
