Ponicode: AI-based coding partner makes life easier for developers

PARIS - Feb. 5, 2020 - PRLog -- French start-up Ponicode was founded in June 2019 with a mission to facilitate developers' day-to-day tasks. It went on to develop an AI-based coding partner capable of generating unit tests in just a few clicks, and soon much more. Ponicode's aim is to help developers produce high-quality code with the least effort and concentrate on the tasks where they can bring the most added value.

Help developers and improve code quality

Observing that developers spend around 50% of their time on tasks other than coding, Ponicode came up with the idea for a platform based on Artificial Intelligence, learning from millions of lines of code. Ponicode allows developers to write unit tests directly in the editor, which means less bugs at the production stage. Ponicode, therefore, speeds up time to market, enhances product quality and helps drive company innovation.

Ponicode is the third company set up by the visionary entrepreneur Patrick Joubert. In 2011, he founded the consulting company Beamap, which specialized in Cloud technology and was subsequently bought out by Sopra Steria in 2014. He went on to create Recast.AI in 2015, a chatbot conversation platform, acquired by SAP in January 2018. Building on the success of these ventures, Patrick Joubert asked his partners Benedetta Dal Canton, Simon Guilliams and Edmond Aouad to join him in taking on a new challenge. The team has nearly €1m in funding (own capital and BPIfrance loan) with which to ensure Ponicode plays a major role in driving the shift in development practices.
