Foster VC Kids celebrate support by changing name to longtime tagline Homes with Heart VC 

VENTURA, Calif. - Feb. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Ventura County Children and Family Services' successful family recruitment initiative is changing their name to longtime tagline, Homes with Heart VC. The change is due to the outpouring of support from the community, who graciously open their homes to youth and children in care and speaks more genuinely to the mission behind recruitment, to find loving homes with heart to mentor and support our children, youth and their families. 

 

Historically, Foster VC Kids recruitment program has garnered a significant increase in resource family inquiries since it first started in 2014.  Now the brand seeks to innovate by re-educating everyone on why they are changing their name to Homes with Heart VC.  

 

 "We need homes with hearts in order to decrease trauma, instill hope in both children and families and to widen the circle of support for our families," said Judy Webber, Deputy Director of Ventura County Human Services Agency, Department of Children and Family Services. "Moving towards Homes with Heart VC, I think describes what we're looking for in a more genuine way."  

 

The initiative was developed six years ago to increase the amount of loving families to take in and support youth in care in Ventura. The successful recruitment initiative will continue its work, asking Ventura County community members to help with children in need of support – especially teens.  Homes with Heart VC will continue    its mission to help youth for a short or a long period, as well as reunify with their birth parents.

Recognized as a best practice leader statewide in the family recruitment and support component of child welfare, Ventura County Children and Family Services' Homes with Heart VC, previously known as Foster VC Kids, was developed to increase the amount of loving resource families who are ready to take in children in need in Ventura County.
