New Seafood Dinner Event Joins Fresh Food Adventures

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill invites foodies to explore different cultural cuisines

HARRODSBURG, Ky. - Feb. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill has planned a year of dining experiences as part of its popular Fresh Food Adventure series. For foodies and those looking for a fun night out, the menus highlight seasonality and source from local meat producers, cheesemakers and farms, including the certified-organic Shaker Village Garden, and are a chance to explore different cultural cuisines.

Fresh Food Adventures are communal dining experiences with all-inclusive fixed dinner and spirits menus. They are hosted throughout the grounds and historic buildings of Shaker Village, Kentucky's largest National Historic Landmark and home to the country's largest private collection of original 19th century buildings.

2020 Fresh Food Adventures:

Seafood Feast (https://shakervillageky.org/events/seafood-feast/) – March 21, 6:30 p.m. NEW: The sea will feel just steps away at this feast in the West Family Dwelling that includes multiple courses featuring Snow Crab Salad and Granny Smith Apple, Bay Scallop Crudo, San Francisco Cioppino, Lobster Newberg and White Chocolate Key Lime Mousse. Tickets: $99/person.

Local Farm Feast (https://shakervillageky.org/events/fresh-food-adventure-l...) – July 18, 6:30 p.m.: Celebrate an evening of collaboration between Chef Hokams and Farm Manager Michael Moore, with a four-course supper in the Shaker Village Garden surrounded by ripe tomatoes, zinnias and butterflies. Savor the summer harvest from the garden as well as the bounty from other local farmers, cheese makers, meat producers, distillers and wine makers. Tickets: $89/person.

Hard Cider Bash (https://shakervillageky.org/events/hard-cider-bash-2/) – Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m.: Welcome fall while sampling orchard flavors at this toasty bash complete with good food, friends and plenty of craft hard cider in the Meadowview Barn. Stations are set with appetizers, salads, main courses, side dishes, mixed drinks and desserts while guests enjoy live music. Tickets: $89/person.

Quail Dinner (https://shakervillageky.org/events/quail-dinner-2/) – Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m.: Dine on Kentucky quail and the fall garden harvest from the Shaker Village Garden while learning how Shaker Village manages its preserve for Northern Bobwhite Quail. This unique dinner is not to be missed. Tickets: $89/person.
