SelectScience launches Cannabis Testing Community for scientists worldwide

Covering the latest techniques and technologies advancing this rapidly expanding field of scientific research

BATH, U.K. - Feb. 2, 2020 - PRLog -- SelectScience has launched a new Cannabis Testing Community to cater for the increasing number of scientists and manufacturers involved in this field of work.

As changes in legislation have come into force over recent years, the online science publisher has kept pace by sharing with its audience a growing number of informative articles, videos, webinars, special features and application notes covering the latest analytical techniques and technologies.

Now, with continued growth in areas of application of medicinal cannabis along with further regulatory and legal changes fuelling a corresponding rise in R&D, educational programs, conferences, cannabis QC testing labs, and product innovation, the time has come to pull all that content together under its own community.

SelectScience Editor, Dr. Lois Manton O'Byrne, said: "At SelectScience, we've always been at the forefront of scientific advancement and technological innovation, responding to the needs of our global audience of scientists and connecting them effectively with manufacturers to accelerate their research.

"The cannabis industry is relatively young but growing at an incredibly fast pace. Consequently, there is an inevitable gap between the tools cannabis scientists need for their work and what is currently available. It's our job to help bridge that gap."

The new community (http://www.selectscience.net/cannabis-testing) incorporates the launch of the new cannabis testing channel on The Scientists' Channel, the independent video platform designed to enable scientists to communicate effectively about their work (http://thescientistschannel.com/cannabis-testing).

The channel already features the likes of Dr. Markus Roggen, founder of Complex Biotech Discovery Ventures, discussing the challenges of consistency in cannabis production and his exciting work on CO2 extraction, and Dr. Ethan Russo, Director of R&D for the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids, talking about his work developing novel delivery techniques for cannabis-based medicines to treat cancer patients and his hopes for the future of cannabis research.

"A theme among those we've already interviewed is the huge importance of collaboration between scientists, and between scientists and manufacturers. The Scientists' Channel and our new Cannabis Testing Community will bring leading cannabis scientists from around the world together, to share ideas, knowledge and best practices," added Lois.

"As with all our scientific communities, membership is completely free of charge."

Explore the latest techniques in chromatography, mass spec, genetics and many more to stay at the cutting edge of common aspects of cannabis analysis, including testing for:

·       Potency/terpenes
·       Mycotoxins/aflatoxins
·       Moulds/bacteria
·       Pesticides/herbicides
·       Heavy metals
·       Residual solvents
·       Foreign materials

SelectScience will also be covering the world's biggest events, such as the Cannabis Science Conference and Emerald Conference.
