New Silk Road - Classical music on functioning chocolate record

BERLIN - Jan. 29, 2020 - PRLog -- Viktoria Kaunzner is running a campaign on Indiegogo to raise funds for her music "New Silk Road" which can be bought as functioning chocolate record. One can eat the record, too. "New Silk Road" is a chocolate record 6 min single album by Viktoria & Virtuosi: with Yaoyao Brandenburg (piano), Katharina Hanstedt (harp), Ernesto Villalobos/Katharina Sames (flute, pan flute), Francesco Petri (clarinet), Weimo Gao (cello), Youjin Sung (gayageum), Ahmad Hussein (saz), Johannes Schubert (zither) and me as violinist, composer and creative director.

The final product is a functioning record made from delicious vegan 100% chocolate. One can see the super fine record grooves on top of it. It is really amazing how this chocolate record sounds like old shellac records from the 1920s!! Viktoria Says, "It is a unique musical present in times where the „New Silk Road" is more present than ever before. Fantasten music performed by wonderful virtuosi and myself sounds on 100% vegan chocolate as a record." Then she added, "I wanted to create an exclusive musical present with my own composition and my musical friends in combination with food."

"New Silk Road" feels like film music and her conception is based on this idea:"Emerald" tells through maqam scales in a long melodic line the mythological story of the Egyptian God of Wisdom, the Moon and Writing "Thoth" whose scriptum can be seen on an Emerald tablet. "Rubin" shows pentatonics and Asian lightness, referring to Thoth´s words in the Coda while all musicians improvise. "Andalusit" combines the Malaguena cadence scheme with Korean rhythm Chinyangjo and is a very fast, energetic movement.
