The public is invited to attend this event, which takes place at Suwanee Sports Academy (3640 Burnette Rd., Suwanee, Georgia 30024) and includes a bracket-style, all-day competition with Prep and Varsity teams.

"This tournament is very special to our organization because not only does it bring a variety of people to Gwinnett, but it also is an opportunity to promote diversity in sports," said Monte Ortel, Gwinnett Sports Commission executive director. "We are looking forward to the event and encourage people from across Metro Atlanta to come out and show their support for these incredibly talented athletes."

More than 230 youth wheelchair basketball athletes, ages 6-18, from 22 teams representing 13 states will compete. The BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam tournament is sanctioned by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA), and it is the largest tournament of its kind in the Southeast.

"As a Norcross-based organization, we are proud to host our largest community event in our own backyard – Gwinnett County," said Mara Galic, BlazeSports America interim executive director. "The  Gwinnett Sports Commission (http://gwinnettsportscommission.com/) has been a great sponsor and partner during the past two years, contributing to the success of the Big Peach and supporting sports for athletes with and without disabilities. We look forward to welcoming all the out-of-state teams to the city of Suwanee." BlazeSports America provides adaptive sport programs throughout the year, giving athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to be physically active and gain all of the benefits that sport provides on and off the field of play.
