OCALA, Fla. - Jan. 21, 2020 - PRLog -- Author Roslyn Franken delivered a presentation on January 10, 2020, to three hundred grade 8 students at Belleview Middle School in Belleview, Florida. She told students the story of her book, Meant to Be, about how her parents survived captivity continents apart during World War II in the most unlikely of circumstances to find everlasting love and triumph over tragedy, against all odds - Her mother survived the horrors of the Holocaust concentration camps in Nazi Europe while her father survived the Nagasaki atomic bomb as a Prisoner of War in Japan.

Roslyn showed students why they need to know and care about what people like her parents went through in the past to understand the dangers of this kind of prejudice, hate and evil and what it can lead to in the future if left unchecked. She inspired them with greater hope, courage and understanding that they have the power of choice in their outlook toward themselves, others and the world around them. Franken encouraged students to better their lives and help make the world a better place for their future by treating others with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect regardless of differences in ethnic background, race, religion and any other differentiating factors.

Teacher Kim Fennewald said, "Roslyn did an outstanding presentation today for Belleview Middle School. This is the time of year when our students start to make questionable choices and are starting to get a little scared and apprehensive about their future and where they're going and what types of decisions they're going to have to make. This presentation couldn't have come at a more perfect time. And to have three hundred 8th grade students to sit for more than ten minutes absolutely quiet, engaged and focused where nobody had to be removed or talked to, and with extra staff in place for supervision, you could hear a pin drop."
