King David is Burning slated to premier at Addison Theatre in north Dallas area February 28
By: OverTake Productions
In "King David is Burning," a son must dethrone his scornful father to save his kingdom. The play is presented by OverTake Productions and stars Tony Williams as a charismatic and emotional crippled king in waiting, with Kiana Washington as a fierce queen who refuses to be pushed to the side and Michael Guinn as a father relentless in keeping his throne. The play was written, directed and produced by Georgiana Anwuiza.
"We are so excited to share this thought-provoking and stirring stage play during Black History Month," Anwuiza said. "I invite theater lovers in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex to join us for what is sure to be an amazing night celebrating Black theater and engaging with the Dallas creative community."
King David is Burning will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, February 29 at Addison Conference and Theatre Centre (15650 Addison Road) in Addison's entertainment district. The event will include door prizes, wine, and special gift drawings during both performances.
