Healthcare Center of Bella Vista Facing Legal Action for Patient Negligence, Fraud

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Garcia & Artigliere, a nationally recognized elder abuse law firm, is bringing a lawsuit against the unlicensed owner of the Healthcare Center of Bella Vista. It is alleged in the Complaint that though disallowed from operating in California after committing multiple nursing home infractions, the true operator of Bella Vista was Shlomo Rechnitz one stated in papers filed by representatives of the State of California to have character issues such that he was a "serial violator" of rules governing the operations of skilled nursing facilities which are to provide a safe environment for elder adults, operates Bella Vista. The lawsuit alleges that the entity granted a license to actually operate Bella Vista has no involvement in Bella Vista but rather Shlomo Rechnitz, through one of his many cover corporations/partnerships actually runs the facility defrauding the public.

According to the allegations of the complaint filed by Garcia & Artigliere, was managed with the goal of increasing profits instead of providing sufficient and necessary care to its residents.  The focus on income led the facility to violate multiple laws and guidelines in California:

• Defrauding the public as to the true operator of Bella Vista
• Failing to retain sufficient staff to meet the needs of the facility's elderly residents
• Hiring staff without the proper training or licensure to provide the necessary care
• Retaining residents who needed more intense care than the facility could provide

This case has been filed on behalf of the survivors of a resident and which alleges that, in around a month of residency, developed an E. coli infection that progressed to septicemia (a life-threatening blood infection).  Though transferred to intensive care, the patient passed away just 5 days after he arrived at the hospital. His estate is requesting restitution for the physical and mental anguish he experienced and asks the state to recognize its cause for damages.
