OLD BRIDGE, N.J. - Jan. 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Missy's Voice is a children's book about a young singer who is tormented daily by bullies. The torment stems from jealousy. Missy reaches her breaking point, but eventually learns that everyone is likable and valuable. The bullies in this book learn that bad behavior is not rewarded.

The idea for this story came from the author's own childhood. Karen's experience of being tormented by kids in her school. They started out as friends. They all did gymnastics, but Karen's passion and fast progress led to jealousy. They tormented Karen whenever they saw her. It happened mostly without adults nearby so no adults actually witnessed this constant tormenting. At the time, any adult Karen told advised her to ignore them. That did not work. Karen was also teased by teammates at gymnastics, especially when they traveled to meets.

When asked what she wants people to get out of this book, Karen responded,
"I really wish people were more kind. You do not know what else is happening in someone's life. What you think is a little stress or no big deal may actually be someone's breaking point."

The illustrations were drawn by the artist, Andrew Rodney. Karen stated, "I was thrilled to see how he translated my words into these pictures. He was really easy to work with too."

Karen shared, there are no books in her immediate future. She originally wrote this story as a film script. Karen said, "I'd love to connect with a producer who would like to take this project on."

When asked if writing is her passion, Karen said she enjoys sharing her thoughts but her passions really are training her athletes and going to ballroom.  She competed in ballroom in 2012.

There are 56 pages and the ISBN is 9781708526627. Missy's Voice is available through Amazon.

Karen has led an interesting life to this point. We look forward to seeing the popularity of this book grow and what the future holds.
