MANASSAS, Va. - Jan. 11, 2020 - PRLog -- Twelve Virginia-area Allstate insurance agency owners recently collected much-needed supplies to support Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) and the domestic-violence survivors it serves. The agencies hosted community supply drives from Sept. 30-Oct. 9 as part of a multi-state Allstate Foundation Purple Purse effort that will benefit more than 50 domestic-violence nonprofits across the country.

Then on Oct. 9, the agency owners presented the collected supplies to Aaron Tolson, ACTS development director. These supplies included professional clothing, toiletries, gift cards, sheets and towels. In addition, thanks to the combined volunteer efforts of the agency owners, ACTS also received a $20,000 grant from the Allstate Foundation.

The donation was presented during a special event at Mustang Sally Brewing Co. in Chantilly, which included local insurance agency owner Christine Angles of Manassas, VA.  "As a small business owner, I believe it's important for me to give back," said Christine Angles. "I'm grateful to be part of a company, such as Allstate, that empowers me and my agency-owner peers to do good in our communities, allowing us to help advance the mission of important organizations like ACTS."

"ACTS provides life-impacting programs, such as domestic-violence services, housing services, hunger prevention and more," said Tolson. "We could not be as impactful in our communities without support from organizations like the Allstate Foundation and small business owners like Allstate agency owner Christine Angles and her peers."
