Royse Contemporary Kicks off 2020 with Gennaro Garcia's solo exhibition "When You're Here"

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Jan. 8, 2020 - PRLog -- Royse Contemporary is excited to present "When You're Here", a solo exhibition of renowned artist Gennaro Garcia. This exhibition showcases a dynamic multi-media collection highlighting the artist's distinctive style and fresh voice. Garcia's latest body of work includes paintings, monosilk prints, and sculptures, showcasing world-class skill utilizing a combination of Italian techniques working with oils, acrylics, plaster, melded with the vibrant Mexican color palette of his childhood. Garcia says his passion, as an artist is to create art in every single technique, style, color texture, always creating and evolving within his art. "Art is addictive and therapeutic, it is the best way to communicate the way I feel, think, love", declares Garcia. Infusing his work with familiar imagery and subjects inspired by his dual identities as both Mexican and American and a true Latino immigrant perspective.

Garcia is a native of San Luis, Sonora, Mexico, migrating to Arizona in his early twenties with drive, passion and the desire to create art. His work is featured in numerous galleries and private collections in both the United States and Mexico. He has exhibited his artwork in more than 80 exhibitions in the last 5 years and been featured in numerous local and national publications including: Phoenix Home & Garden, Phoenix Magazine, Arizona Republic, and Univision. Garcia is the resident artist at Xico Inc.- Latin & Native American Arts Organization and the cofounder of the Calle 16 Mural Project. He is the recipient of the Masters of the Southwest Award, a recognition presented by the Phoenix Home & Garden. In 2018 Garcia partnered with Aaron Chamberlin opening Taco Chelo in Downtown Phoenix, highlighting the traditions of Mexican food and his artwork. To date he has handled the interior design of over a dozen restaurants, featuring his art and furniture design including Tempe Public Market and Ghost Ranch.

"When You're Here" will open to the public on Thursday, January 16, 2020 with a special artist reception from 6:00-10:00pm, coinciding with this year's "Demonstrate & Donuts" Gold Palette Scottsdale ArtWalk. The evening will feature an opportunity to meet the featured artist and curator, along with light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.  "When You're Here" will be on display from January 16, 2020 through February 9, 2020.
