CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Jan. 7, 2020 - PRLog -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Johnson City, Tennessee, is proud to recognize Ms. Smith of Pratt Elementary School in Pratt, WV,  for offering her students a chance to learn to love reading with Sophie & the Bookmobile by JCP author Kathleen M. Jacobs.

In Sophie & the Bookmobile, Sophie's family moves from New York City to West Virginia. Sophie not only has to leave her friends and the city and library she loves so much, but she must figure out what will happen when she realizes that there is no library in her new town! It isn't until she discovers something called a bookmobile and other new treasures that all is right with Sophie's world.

At Pratt Elementary School, Ms. Smith's students battle the challenges of living in an economically depressed area with a high percentage of drug addiction and/or deaths. Still yet, Ms. Smith's students attend school with smiles on their faces and hope in their hearts. It is Ms. Smith's goal to help and encourage those of her students who struggle with reading, and to foster a love of academics and literature.

By reading Sophie & the Bookmobile with her students, Ms. Smith will present a vivid story that her students can relate to through familiar locations and recognizable characters. The plot of Jacobs' book is one that is easy for Ms. Smith's students to grasp, and the language and character development make every page believable.

Furthermore, Ms. Smith's students will learn about Kathleen M. Jacobs, a successful WV author who has lived in their hometown and shared similar experiences with them. Ms. Smith aims to show that, through reading Sophie & the Bookmobile and learning about Jacobs, her students will recognize the ties that lie in having a good education and that their hope will continue to flourish.

Ms. Smith and Pratt Elementary School are accepting donations to help supply each of her students with a copy of Sophie & the Bookmobile. You can find more information and donate through Donors Choose.org: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/sophie-and-the-bookmobile-reluctant-rea/4701036/.
