Military Sexual Trauma Movement Disputes Copyright Claims of Ex-Volunteers

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Jan. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- In September 2019, the Military Sexual Trauma Movement (MSTM) brought 16 Military Sexual Trauma (MST) survivors to the nation's capitol to lobby in the Senate and engage in several demonstrations throughout Washington D.C. to stand up for survivors' rights.

"I attended the 'MSTM Takes on Washington D.C.'  event and I participated in several demonstrations that I found to be very empowering for me as a survivor of Military Sexual Trauma. Since that event, photos taken of me during those demonstrations, that I consented for the use of MSTM purposes only, have been removed from social media. Even worse, my story shared with the news media was silenced due to this copyright fraud by Alex Losieniecki and his wife, Diedra Hubay."

         Lisa Nolasco
         Leader for Arizona for MSTM

Court documents state several of the movement's newly registered volunteers were in search of more influence within the organization (of which they were denied) and elected to steal HR personnel files when they decided to resign. When confronted by the Board of Directors of MSTM, these individuals went on to fraudulently copyright photos taken of these demonstrations hosted and funded by MSTM.

According to court documents that were filed, Robert "Alex" Losieniecki was a registered volunteer: in fact his wife, Deidra Hubay, drafted and sent out a school excusal letter stating he was "the-photographer-on-duty for the Military Sexual Trauma Movement, Inc." (https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.pawd.260...) on September 02, 2019 prior to the MSTM Takes On Washington D.C. event. Court documents also state that MSTM purchased these copyrights (https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.pawd.260...) and the non-profit filed on October 8th, 2019.

"This matter has been deeply painful for us to experience as survivors who have been re-silenced from telling our stories. We are confident that in the pursuit of justice, the Military Sexual Trauma Movement will continue to advocate for the rights of those who never should have had to experience betrayal from the armed forces or from their brothers and sisters in arms."
