Valley Forge Medical Center Applauds Governor's Initiative

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Jan. 2, 2020 - PRLog -- Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital, Inc. applauds the efforts of Governor Wolf and his announcement of the "Reach Out PA: Your Mental Health Matters" initiative.  His focused multi-agency effort will help to expand resources across the Commonwealth in support of mental health and related health care priorities including substance use disorders.

For more than 50 years, Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital, Inc. has focused its mission on helping people suffering from the devastating effects of addiction and mental health issues.  Just in the last year Valley Forge provided care to over 1,500 patients suffering from mental health and substance use disorder issues including opioid addiction.  The stigma associated with these conditions is a heartbreaking obstacle that too often prevents individuals from accessing much-needed treatment or achieving recovery.

I can't underscore enough how important and impactful it is to have the Governor focus both public and state agency attention on these issues.  We pledge to work with the Governor, state agencies, the Pennsylvania legislature and local governments to continue to improve access to care for Pennsylvanians struggling with mental health and substance use disorders.
