Hispano Vema Decontamination Systems to support Ukraine Border security

OSCE trust in Hispano Vema Decontamination Apparatus ATM10 in its OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine to provide State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with CBRN decontamination capabilities in its border security control task.

ZARAGOZA, Spain - Jan. 2, 2020 - PRLog -- Ukraine´s border is more than 4,500 kilometers shared with 7 countries (Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Belarus and Russia) in which it is necessary that Law Enforcement Agencies responsible of its security (State Border Guard Service and State Fiscal Service of Ukraine) have appropriate training and equipment to be able to manage any Hazmat incident induced by chemical agents: TICs (Toxic Industrial Chemicals) or CWAs (Chemical Warfare Agents).

OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe), through its OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (funded by the European Union and the United States of America), has Border Security in Ukraine as one of its objectives. In this context, OSCE provided two intensive four days training to officers of Ukraine´s State Border Guard and  State Fiscal Service, focused  on the management and response to emergency situations caused by chemical agents.

The training was held at the Orshanets Training Center in  Cherkasy region. During the training, was covered main principles for detection and decontamination of chemical agents, as well as interagency coordination and emergency response management. In addition, OSCE provided  25 kits of personal protection, detection equipment and decontamination equipment to State Board Guard Service  which helps to increase its resilience against CBRN and Hazmat incidents at Ukrainian borders.

As it was spotlighted by Henrik Viladsen, the OSCE Project Co-Ordinator in Ukraine  "Effective control of cross-boundary movement of chemicals is highly important to address potential threats to the health and lives of those people who work at the border, and those who can be affected after hazardous chemicals enter the country..".

For this purpose, OSCE has selected portable Decontamination Apparatus ATM10 from Hispano Vema (http://www.hispanovema.com/en/cbrn-decontamination-cbrn-d...)
Its compact size and extraordinary ergonomics provide maximum versatility and minimum response time for the decontamination of a wide range of materials, surfaces, products, etc. in a wide variety of scenarios contaminated with chemical agents (TIC or CWA).

These were main parameters considered by ECOTEST (Hispano Vema's partner in Ukraine) to select Decontamination Apparatus ATM10  as  most appropriate equipment to provide optimal decontamination capabilities to State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to the management of chemical threats in their borders.
