Former Boston Red Sox All Star Mo Vaughn Gives Back to Boca Raton Youth Baseball Leagues
Mo Vaughn Announces "Dollar for Dollar" Program with Boca Raton PawSox non-profit travel baseball organization. Every contribution donated, Mo will match the same.
The Mo Vaughn "Dollar for Dollar Giving" was recently launched on the Boca Raton PawSox website and social media accounts. Every contribution made will be matched- dollar for dollar - by Vaughn. From $1 to $5,000, any amount one donates, Vaughn will donate the same amount.
The Boca Raton PawSox is a 501(c)(3) non-profit travel baseball organization. Founded by Vaughn, a.k.a. "The Hit Dog", the PawSox seeks to provide players with the opportunity to increase their skill level, enhance healthy competition, and make competitive baseball enjoyable.
All proceeds from donors go directly to covering costs associated with operating the program, including but not limited to, league fees, scholarships, uniforms, tournament fees, umpire fees, professional training costs, insurance, etc. Vaughn is leading the organization and coaches one of the teams, which his son Lee plays on.
"I created the Boca Raton PawSox as a result of my son getting me back in the game," said Vaughn, a three time All-Star and American League MVP award recipient in 1995 with the Boston Red Sox. "Our organization aims to create an environment that promotes healthy competition, builds young players from the ground up, teaches them the proper skills and mindset, and allows teams to have paid professional coaches. I also believe that baseball is a vehicle to life. As coaches we are not only building great players, we are building well-rounded individuals to help set them up for success."
