Meet the Artist is an event activity of Margazhi.org, wherein accomplished artists are invited for an interaction, with their Rasikas. The artist's early life, achievements, and more about their work is discussed during the interaction. Artists such as Ranjani & Gayatri, Jayanthi Kumaresh, Vijay Siva, S.Sowmya and Jigyasa Giri have been featured in previous Meet the Artist events.

About Mohana Harendran

In this month's Meet the Artist we are featuring dancer Smt. Mohana Harendran in conversation with Aarabi Veeraraghavan.

Smt. Mohana Harendran is the founder of Sathyalayam School of Music and Dance, Singapore. She has trained in bharatanatyam under Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale of Kalakshetra and carnatic vocals under Smt. D.K. Pattammal. She will be sharing snippets of her life experiences with these gurus.

Sathyalayam will be presenting the dance programme Mazhalaiyum Barathiyum in Chennai on the 4th of January, 2020 at at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.

Mazhalaiyum Barathiyum is a tribute to Smt. Neila Sathyalingam (mother of Smt. Mohana Harendran), recipient of the prestigious Cultural Medallion (Singapore's cultural award conferred to those who have achieved artistic excellence in the arts).

Aarabi is a trained contemporary dancer and a gifted writer. She enjoys penning articles about and for the arts.
