By: Haverhiill Cultural Council December 16, 2019 COMMITTEE GEARS UP FOR 2020 MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL IN JUNE The Haverhill Cultural Council's Multicultural Festival 2020 committee members met recently to discuss and plan various facets of a huge upcoming event that has been in the making since last May. This event, which takes place on June 20, 2020, is sponsored in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Pentucket Bank and Merrimack Valley Credit Union with donations from several members of the Haverhill City Council and local residents. The event will be a mix of ethnic and culturally diverse foods, entertainment, and activities featuring up to a half dozen different cultures. "This is exactly the type of event the Cultural Council wants to bring to the community - a day for everyone to share, and honor the rich cultural heritage that makes up our city. It is energizing to see this talented group of people bringing this dream to fruition. We'd love more people to be involved and to support this ambitious endeavor. So email us and share your talents, and/or your financial support," says Alison Colby-Campbell, outgoing HCC Chairperson. The Haverhill Cultural Council has also completed its 2019 grant season, awarding over $34,228 in funds to help 32 applicants bring art, culture and other programs to the city through and plans on announcing grant recipients for the 2020 season in January after the holiday break. The council meets on the third Wednesday of the month at The Haverhill Citizens Center, 10 Welcome Street, at 6:30pm.
