Kathmandu Valley Observes Yomari Punhi

KATHMANDU, Nepal - Dec. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Yomari Punhi, one of the venerated Newari festivals in Nepal denoting the end of the rice harvesting season, yesterday. The full-moon day sees adoration of Goddess Annapurna wherein a steamed sweetmeat arranged with crisp rice-gather is arranged and delighted in. Rice-flour, chaaku (molasses) and sesame seeds or khuwa (thickened milk) are regularly used to make ya:mari.

As per Basu Pasa's verifiable book 'Kantipur', "Among various shapes yomari, 'Bayo' symbolizes the male sexual organ while the triangle molded with two points toward the end known as 'Mayo' yomari recommends the female sexual organ and speaks to father and mother individually.

The Bayo yomari is loaded up with molasses and sesame seeds while the Mayo yomari is loaded up with heartbeats. Along these lines, Yomari is viewed as a representative mix of sex". The way of life of 'Yomari Fonegu' relates to affection and sentiment. Individuals were going home to home, towns to tows to ask Yomari, and this is the time when they get a chance to sneak peak talks with their loved ones, their friends and family.

In the conventional days, society was prohibitive with affection. Yomari Punhi's 'Yomari Fonegu' culture was used as a cruising day on those occasions, and sweethearts would subtly meet a few days ago. There were no mobiles, no telephones. Individuals would write specifically articulations.
