MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Dec. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Officials announced that the AutoZone Liberty Bowl is launching an online esports gaming tournament to bring together traditional sports and esports fans in efforts to get fans, gamers, and teammates engaged in Bowl activities weeks before coming on-site, resulting in a charitable donation being presented on game day.

Partnering with L5 Innovations' Battle at the Bowl, an experiential gaming company, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl launched a three-week tournament series with participants representing Navy or Kansas State in a free online battle playing League of Legends. Individual prizes will be distributed to the top three places with points earned going toward team totals. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament series will be making the donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the official charitable partner of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

"This is a great way to get the AutoZone Liberty Bowl involved with the community on a different level. These esports tournaments give the AutoZone Liberty Bowl the perfect opportunity to enable the fans of Navy and Kansas State that play esports games to engage and interact with us well before they come to Memphis", said Steve Ehrhart, Executive Director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. "Bringing the esports and football communities together is a great way to get everyone involved in our Bowl Game".
