Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder Victoria Collier Warns Of Phone Scams

DECATUR, Ga. - Dec. 6, 2019 - PRLog -- Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier talks about the importance of being cautious when getting phone calls, suggesting loneliness makes older adults perfect targets for scammers.

DECATUR, GA, December 6, 2019: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm's website entitled "Don't Be A Victim Be Wary Instead," in which Ms. Collier suggests that as the holidays get closer the scammers "kick into high gear."

Collier writes, "I recently read an article at aarp.org about a recent Senate committee report saying that older adults lose an estimated $2.9 billion each year to financial scams." She adds, "Of course criminals are going to target the most vulnerable people and adults 65+ are at the top of their lists."

According to Collier, "Many older adults are lonely and those who live alone are particularly susceptible. With the holidays coming up, the criminals kick into high gear." She continues adding, "Many older adults do not screen their telephone calls and will talk to anyone who calls. The telephone is one of the most lucrative ways criminals have of contacting their victims."
