New Jersey State Children's Chorus performs in An Ars Musica Holiday 12/14/19

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. - Dec. 6, 2019 - PRLog -- he New Jersey State Children's Chorus (NJSCC) will appear as featured performers in Ars Musica Chorale's annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 14 at 7 pm in West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 S. Monroe St., Ridgewood, NJ. Tickets are available at www.njstatechildrenschorus.org. The venue is accessible and large-print programs are available.

Appearing in concert with Ars Musica is an event highly anticipated by the NJSCC.  The children relish the opportunity to perform with professional instrumentalists and soloists as well as the larger choir; the members of Ars Musica take pleasure in sharing the unique joy of choral music with the next generation of singers.  In fact, the NJSCC was founded in 2016 by Ars Musica Chorale as an educational outreach initiative.

This year, the NJSCC welcomes Geralyn Keely as Artistic Director.  Ms. Keely is a certified music teacher with a great deal of experience teaching children with a wide range of abilities.  An accomplished soloist who has performed in the US and throughout Europe, Ms. Keely has a personal passion for choral singing that has informed her career.  Ms. Keely notes, "Singing in choir is a life changing experience.  It is a passageway to a higher dimension.  It is an opportunity not only to discover the beauty of one's own voice but understanding how one voice becomes an integral part of a much greater experience.  It is an experience of belonging, teamwork, beauty, and joy."

The Ridgewood-based New Jersey State Children's Chorus is open to children in grades kindergarten through eight. Enrollment is ongoing. Interested children are welcome to participate in up to two rehearsals before joining to ensure a positive experience.
