Follow on Google News | Children's Choir to Sing In Memory of Martin Luther King, JrThe Jacksonville Children's Chorus in collaboration with Atlanta's Moorehouse Glee Club presents the 11th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" Concert.
Annually held at Hendrix Avenue Baptist Church, the concert will begin with the cultural diverse Jacksonville Children's Chorus performance of the hymn "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" an African American Spiritual written by James Weldon Johnson and put to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson in 1905. In addition to all of the Jacksonville Children's Chorus choirs, the Morehouse College Glee Club will also perform during the concert. Tickets for the concert will be available to purchase on the Jacksonville Children's Chorus website closer to the event. About the Jacksonville Children's Chorus The Jacksonville Children's Chorus, founded in 1995, is Jacksonville's largest provider of music education. The JCC's mission is to enrich the lives of singers and audiences across the region.
