NEW YORK - Nov. 27, 2019 - PRLog -- After the turkey, football and pies, Americans devour sales both in store and online during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Then comes Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday has become a major movement in the US, with $400 million raised in 2018. Piplsay surveyed 41,988 Americans about their plans for Giving Tuesday.

The following are Piplsay's top level findings:

• Small local charities to receive most donations on #GivingTuesday this year
• Food, Children & Environmental aid among top causes for #GivingTuesday
• A whopping 70% of Americans will not be affected by the new tax law

Here's additional information we found :

• 26% of men donate on #GivingTuesday regularly as compared to just 19% of women
• 25-44-year olds donate the most on #GivingTuesday as compared to other age groups
• Americans across all age groups prefer donating to smaller local charities the most
• 18-34-year olds prefer crowdsourcing operations more than other age groups
• Children and youth remain the top charitable cause for most 18-44- year olds
• Human rights and political causes  figure low in the list of priorities for most Americans
• Donations by men have taken a bigger hit because of the new tax law

No Hit To Donations

Here's what surprised us: A whopping 70% of Americans have not let the new tax law affect their charitable giving. This means we can expect a lot of action this #GivingTuesday as well, especially given that about 22% of Americans regularly donate on that day. Already, about one-third of Americans are confident that the donations on #GivingTuesday this year will surpass last year's total contribution of $400 million.
