Is Beauty the Promise of Happiness?

HAYWARD, Calif. - Nov. 25, 2019 - PRLog -- Growing up, one of the struggles that I faced was to fit in with the crowd, with blue-eyes, blonde-hair and 5'10 girls in my school. I started comparing myself with others and felt inadequate. I constantly wished I would be taller and skinnier when I went out shopping for clothes. I obsessed with high heels because I was confident only when I wore high heels. I was unconsciously seeking for validation and pleasing people around me – even if it conflicted with my internal values and feelings.

The term "beauty" is a very subjective term in and of itself and the fashion industry has been defining what its restrictive cultural definition should be for many years: predominantly Caucasian, tall and standardized size-zero. Size, however, is not the only difference between people. We must not forget to value visual facial and bodily differences. We must realize that every woman is beautiful in her own, unique way. True beauty comes from within, but women have sold themselves on turning that truth inside out.

At LiZEY, we believe that no girl or young women should be held back by worries about the way she looks. We encourage women of all shapes, sizes to love their body and to not seek any validation from others. There is only one "you" in this world, so don't conceal that.
