Landing Contemporary Art announces online launch
Landing Contemporary Art, a new nomadic art gallery, will go live with an online launch on December 4th featuring the works of contemporary emerging artists from across the United States.
At the helm of this exciting art venture is Kristie Landing, an independent art curator with an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby's Institute, London and a BA from Duke University. She previously served as Gallery Director of Ella W. Richardson Fine Art in Charleston, SC and has worked with numerous art museums and publications. The roster of artists for the opening includes Jenifer Kent, Rebekah Andrade, Cathleen Ficht, Zane Osler, Maggie Roof, Thomas Wilder, and Alida Wilkinson.
"The art world can seem very unapproachable. Many people put off starting an art collection because it seems inaccessible, overwhelming, and costly. Landing Contemporary Art provides a platform that makes collecting easy. Whether online or in person at a unique pop-up event, we want you to have an enjoyable experience and come away with art that you will cherish," says founder Kristie Landing.
The art world is still the wild, wild West in a lot of ways. There's a large degree of it that is unregulated, prices can be volatile, and demand is king. There are so many options out there of galleries, online sites, fairs, etc. that make it hard to know where to look. Landing Contemporary Art is committed to price transparency on their site and they have selected emerging artists whose careers are beginning to blossom.
While we can't all afford a Picasso, we can afford art. There are so many ways to start your collection in a small way and once you do, you'll be able to grow it as your lifestyle expands. Plus, you'll feel a new sense of connection to the creative community as you support the next generation of artists.
