-- Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg has been named the Hickok Belt(R) Award winner for the month of October 2019. After ending the playoffs with a 5 and 0 record, 1-98 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 47 strikeouts, he and teammate Juan Soto were the winners of the Babe Ruth MVP award for the overall playoffs. Strasburg finished 2019 with the most wins in the regular season (18) with a 3.32 ERA.
Other finalists for the month of October in order of how the NSMA ranked them included: Eliud Kipchoge (marathon), Anthony Rendon (baseball), Kirk Cousins (football), Jose Altuve (baseball), Nick Bosa (football), Leon Draisaitl (hockey), Giannis Antetokounmpo (basketball)
