The Commissioner versus The VP: Battle of The Alumni League

PHILADELPHIA - Nov. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Hold on to your hats and get ready to rumble. The Commish versus The VP is going down. Elisa O'Keefe-Smith (The VP) and Fahreed Cheatham (The Commissioner) were scheduled in court this afternoon, ready to battle it out.

O'Keefe-Smith is suing Cheatham for earnings as a 35% partner of The Alumni League for Season 1 - 5, with an option to sue again for future earnings. Cheatham claims O'Keefe-Smith was nothing more than an assistant. Prior to today's court appearance, he offered to talk if the case was dropped. O'Keefe-Smith is willing to negotiate but only with a signed and notarized contract.

At today's hearing, Cheatham's lawyer attempted to get the case thrown out, however the attempt was unsuccessful. Cheatham's lawyer then requested a continuance, in order to properly review the evidence. The next court date is set for December 17th,.

O'Keefe-Smith received offers from both Judge Judy and Judge Mathis producers to bring the case to their shows, and agreed to Judge Judy, however Cheatham refused the offer. Now that would have been some great Television.

Cheatham, a former basketball semi-pro, and a school Dean who holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, had run leagues before The Alumni League, but none were as successful, He also referees basketball for several leagues in the Philadelphia/Tri-State Area.

O'keefe-Smith, an award-winning producer/creator of The Diva Docs Web TV Talk Show & a marketer in the pharmaceutical industry, holds a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) Degree, and is a current Doctoral Candidate, working on a doctoral dissertation.

Combined, Cheatham and O'Keefe-Smith were a force to be reckoned with, and the league grew quickly.

Since their fallout, O'Keefe-Smith has kept involved with basketball in the area, partnering with former ex-NBA veteran of 8 years, Flip Murray (who also plays for Strawberry Mansion in The Alumni League) working on the Flip Murray Pro-Am, and has also partnered with Gerald Wilmore of All-City Classic 302 Legends League, to add marketing insight and knowledge in an effort to expand the league, and they are flying. She is also working with individual athletes on their brands.
