South Shore Habitat for Humanity seeks volunteers for ReStore
By: South Shore Habitat for Humanity
The ReStore is a home improvement and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home décor and building supplies at deeply discounted prices. Proceeds from ReStore sales fund Habitat's mission of helping local families in need of safe, decent and affordable housing. The ReStore is open to the public to shop and donate and volunteer.
Presently, there are two open volunteer opportunities at the ReStore.
A Greeter/Customer Service volunteer is sought to greet and assist customers; this position requires an individual who is outgoing, enthusiastic and enjoys working with the public. It involves standing, walking and talking.
Also needed is a volunteer Merchandise Assistant, whose responsibilities will include moving furniture, appliances, building materials and other donated items. The position involves standing, walking, lifting, bending and no issues with getting a good workout and hands a little dirty!
Currently there are openings for two hour shifts from 3-5 pm on Wednesday through Friday and Saturday from 11-2 for Merchandise Assistants. On Saturdays a greeter is needed from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older and willing to sign a waiver.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to contact Margaret Lynch at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 781-812-4883 for more information.
"Our mission depends on the hard work of volunteers; they are critical to every part of our vision to ensure everyone has the opportunity for safe, affordable housing," said Martine Taylor, Executive Director of South Shore Habitat for Humanity.
