With seven years of experience at CIS-HOT, Mize brings tremendous knowledge and vision for the organization and the students they serve.
"The Board is delighted to welcome Aaron Mize as the new Executive Director of CIS-HOT," said Holly Dunham, board chair. "Following an extensive search, we determined that Aaron's strong devotion to CIS-HOT and his extensive background with the organization make him the right person to chart the future direction of CIS-HOT. We are confident that Aaron and his team will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children, families, and communities we serve." Mize's resume includes seven years in various roles at CIS-HOT, including work at the school level and program development. In the last two years, Mize has served as the Chief Strategy Officer. He completed his Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work both at Baylor University. Overseeing both Workforce Development and Community Youth Development programs during his career at CIS-HOT, as well as the Waco Wonderland Run and Taste of Waco fundraisers have helped Mize build strong relationships within the community which he will continue to nurture. "In my time with Communities In Schools, I have dedicated myself to ensuring we make the greatest impact while keeping transformational relationships and equity at the core of our work," said Mize. "I am focusing on maintaining the programmatic and financial stability of CIS-HOT while also leading our team into a period of growth that looks inward.
