NORWELL, Mass. - Nov. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, a South Shore practice specializing in unique programs that provide comprehensive treatment in orthopedic, spine and sports medicine specialties, is pleased to announce that Ruth Maloney, PT, DPT has been promoted to Director of the Pelvic Health program.

In her new role Maloney will be responsible for all of the education, mentorship, and overall growth of the program helping it reach more men, women, and children in the communities they serve.

Maloney received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2007. She has received extensive training in Women and Men's pelvic health with significant clinic experience in treating urinary/bowel dysfunctions, chronic pain, and pregnancy and postpartum issues. She furthered her manual and clinical skills through course work from NAIOMT, the Herman and Wallace Institute and Discover Physio. She is passionate about educating the community and other medical professionals on pelvic health and has developed several programs to further overall understanding and recognition of these issues.

Maloney resides in Pembroke with her husband and two children and enjoys gardening, reading, hiking and yoga.

Peak has a team of physical therapists who specialize in women's, men's, and pediatric pelvic health conditions, and will provide non-surgical and non-medicinal options for a number of conditions. The therapists evaluate each patient to identify the source of the problem and then develop an individualized treatment plan. The program offers evaluations and treatments for a variety of conditions including bladder and urinary dysfunction, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, pre and post-natal low back pain, prostate cancer rehab, Diastasis Recti, sexual dysfunction, and more.
