Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity awards Thiel College senior national achievement scholarship

Thiel College sociology, criminal justice and psychology major Angela Campbell was awarded a scholarship from Zeta Tau Alpha women's fraternity.

GREENVILLE, Pa. - Nov. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- Thiel College senior Angela Campbell '20, a sociology, criminal justice and psychology major with minors in political science and legal studies, was one of 299 scholarship recipients from Zeta Tau Alpha women's fraternity for the 2019–2020 academic year.

Campbell, of Pittsburgh, is a 2016 graduate of Plum Senior High School.

"Receiving the scholarship from the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation has been incredible. It is empowering to know that this national organization sees so much potential in me that they are willing to help fund my education," Campbell said. "All of my hard work and dedication has been recognized. I can not thank the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation enough for all that they have done for me."

Winning the Achievement Award, Campbell received $5,000 to put toward her senior year at Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/).

As a four-year member of the organization, Campbell has held positions including president, vice president of committees, and secretary of the Thiel College chapter. Under her tenure, the Zeta Beta chapter has won awards such as Crown Chapter and the Silver Award.

"Throughout my time in Zeta Tau Alpha, I have learned invaluable skills that will help me in my all future endeavors, such as leadership, collaboration, and communication. ZTA has had a huge impact on my life," she said. "I am forever grateful for all of the opportunities that this organization has provided to me."

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1898 at the Virginia State Female Normal School (Longwood University). With national partnerships including the National Football League, American Cancer Society, and Bright Pink, the ZTA Foundation exists to promote breast cancer education and awareness by raising money for and with those organizations. The Zeta Beta chapter at Thiel College was founded on September 18, 1964.
