Count Your Blessings Children's Book

LONDON - Nov. 13, 2019 - PRLog -- In collaboration with Illustrator Miguel de Lara, 'Count your Blessings' is Jessica Brookes' second book to be released, promoting the value of gratitude. Counting one to ten, a child reflects on his day of awe with gratitude as he takes a moment to count his blessings before bedtime. In this beautifully illustrated journey we are reminded of how stars tell us that life is beautiful and magical, that trees are magnificent and fun to climb, that great friendships are gifts and that loving gestures from Mum keep us cosy, safe and warm.

Besides the benefit of learning to count, this story cultivates gratitude which supports mental health in children while keeping our hearts and minds open to the possibilities and magic that life presents us with. Being a self-published book, they have launched a crowd-funding campaign so that supporters can contribute towards it's manifestation; being printed locally on recycled paper with non-toxic inks. An approach that embodies what they stand by as important.

Two creative friends that have dreamt of publishing children's books, Jessica a yogi, creative director of wellness retreat called The Shanti Space with a passion for words and Miguel an artist, illustrator and graphic designer who loves creating with his hands joined forces for something they feel passionate about. Both have benefitted from a gratitude practice and appreciate the meaning it brings and the power it has to illuminate that which we have to be thankful for.  Numerous studies are demonstrating how practicing gratitude can increase one's happiness and that expressing thanks reduces stress, increases optimism, and changes your brain. This is one way we seek to support the mental well-being of children and their parents growing up in our world today. Besides taking them to dreamy landscapes in this magical book of vibrant wonder!
