-- The Bear Creek School continued its support of the Side-Out Foundation (www.side-out.org)
to promote breast cancer awareness and treatment at our eleventh annual Dig Pink volleyball matches on October 23, 2019. This year for the first time, Bear Creek partnered with local rivals The Overlake School Owls, also from Redmond, WA, to fill the Grizzlies' gym with pink-clad students, parents, and friends cheering for their respective teams.
In the weeks leading up to the game, the Lady Grizzlies volleyball team sold Dig Pink T-shirts. Additionally, Middle School students coordinated a bake sale on the day of the matches. Although admission is normally not charged at Bear Creek athletics events, since Dig Pink is a fundraiser, tickets were sold for this event. All ticket sales, concession and bake sale proceeds, and T-shirt profits were donated to Side-Out, for a grand total of $2,751.87.
In the varsity volleyball match, Overlake defeated Bear Creek (25-15, 15-21, 25-17).About The Bear Creek School
