CEO Suki Steinhauser Celebrates 25 years with Communities In Schools

AUSTIN, Texas - Nov. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- Suki Steinhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CIS), is celebrating her 25^th year of service. Suki's nonprofit career began after being inspired to serve others as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland, Africa, where she taught math for three years. Suki started her work at Communities In Schools in 1994, then went on to become CEO in 2006. In Suki's time at CIS, the nonprofit went from serving 16 schools in two districts to serving 85 schools in seven districts today.

"For over twenty-five years, Suki has led the charge in Central Texas on behalf of students", says Nikki Graham, Austin Market President for Bank of America. "She has tremendous compassion and understanding of the many challenges students in our community face. Her leadership at Communities In Schools of Central Texas has resulted in much needed expertise and resources at the campus level to help students overcome challenges and achieve success."

Suki has a B.A. from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a graduate of the 2007 Leadership Austin Essential class and was featured in the Austin Business Journal's annual Profiles in Power. She is currently active in the nonprofit community where she has used her experience and business acumen to improve the lives of disenfranchised youth and families.

This spirit of service is shared by her husband, Chester, and their children, Annie and Nick.
