BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Nov. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- In celebration of the new, and final, return of the Tutankhamun exhibition to London this month (Saatchi & Saatchi Gallery, Nov. 2 to May 3 2020), Corinthian Travel has created a truly unique, 11-day, private tour to Egypt, 'Carnarvon's Egypt'.

Led by an expert Egyptologist guide, the itinerary provides an in-depth immersion into the mysteries, monuments, religion and lifestyle of the ancient Egyptians, with visits to the mighty rock-cut temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel – the ultimate symbol of ancient Egyptian power.

The trip will deliver one fascinating unbroken narrative on Egyptian civilisation as you journey through the 'Two Lands'.

Travel beyond the great pyramids of Giza to learn about the origins of pyramid construction at Saqqara and see the curious pyramids at Dashur – which provided the Egyptians with the knowledge and know-how to transition from step-sided pyramids to smooth-sided pyramids.

Spend a full day exploring the Egyptian museum – a must for anyone who wants to do justice to this spellbinding and unique collection and, whilst in Upper Egypt, you will be taken off the beaten track to visit Abydos, the cult centre of Osiris god of the underworld, and to see the amazingly well preserved Temple of Hathor at Dendera.

No archaeologically focused tour of Egypt would be complete without having at least a full day dedicated to discovering the stunning rock-cut tombs and mortuary temples on Luxor's West Bank.

There will also be a visit to the massive Temples of Amon-Ra (meaning hidden God) at Karnak – the origin of all creation – when floodlit.  The extraordinary complex includes the Hypostyle Hall, which has 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows; 12 of the columns are 21 meters tall with a diameter of over three meters.

The itinerary also includes a relaxed, four-night Nile Cruise, with stops at the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo along the way.

Arriving in Aswan, your private Egyptologist will guide you around the Temple of Isis on Philae Island for the conclusion of this memorable journey.

The holiday can start on any day and costs from £3325 pp (two sharing).  This includes airport transfers, private, chauffeur driven transportation throughout, 10 nights' B&B (plus four lunches and four dinners), private Egyptologist from days two to 10, four-night Nile cruise in a deluxe cabin and sightseeing/entrance fees.  Flights extra (bookable through Corinthian Travel).
