Prior to opening, the new location will host a Backyard BBQ Party to give Sandy Springs residents their first taste of City Barbeque. From 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 9, folks can swing by the joint's back parking lot for slow-smoked barbeque, a loaded mac & cheese bar, hand-dipped caramel apples, and a cold glass of homemade lemonade from City Barbeque's lemonade stand.
City Barbeque Sandy Springs will officially open on Monday, November 11, with giveaways for the first 25 guests of the day. The joint will also commemorate Veterans Day on November 11 by offering all veterans and active military a free sandwich, two sides, and a regular drink for dine-in or carryout all day. Later in the week, the Sandy Springs Chamber will help officially open Atlanta's newest City Barbeque with a ribbon cutting on Friday, November 15.
On Saturday, November 16, City Barbeque Sandy Springs will host a Grand Opening Celebration, filled with barbeque giveaways, a hot cocoa bar, live music, face painters, and more. The joint will also donate 10% of the day's sales to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Atlanta (https://www.mda.org), a nonprofit committed to transforming the lives of people affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. City Barbeque will also sell tumblers to support MDA Atlanta: tumblers can be purchased at the Sandy Springs joint for $5 each beginning November 16, with all profits to benefit MDA Atlanta. Guests who purchase a tumbler can enjoy free refills through January 11, 2020.
