LONDON - Oct. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- To mark the start of the season, we thought we'd have a go at an early call for who might stand a chance of landing the infamous Jump racing triple crown.

What is the Triple Crown?

Horses have a shot at winning a bonus by winning the three required races over the jump season.

These races are the Betfair Chase at Haydock, the King George VI at Kempton and the Gold Cup at Cheltenham. The prize money is set at 1 million pound and is shared between the winning owners, the trainer, staff at the training yard and the jockey.

So who do we think stands a chance?

Lostintranslation (trainer Colin Tizzard)

Colin Tizzard may have found the perfect replacement for his former stable star, Cue Card, who couldn't quite pull off the triple in his career. He gave all great hope in his time when winning the Betfair Chase and the King George IV but the Gold Cup eluded him. Tizzard has said Lostintranslation could succeed, where Cue Card failed.

Clan Des Obeaux (trainer Paul Nicholls)

"Clan Des Obeaux I have earmarked for the Betfair Chase. If he manages to land the first leg then it's game on."

This horse was last year's King George VI winner and will bid to follow in the hoof-prints of the mighty Kauto Star, who remains the only horse to have ever achieved the remarkable feat during an unbeaten 2006-7 campaign. For a reminder of the impressive feat of winning The Triple Crown, watch below:

"We're delighted to once again be offering this £1million bonus to horses taking part in the three most prestigious Grade One staying chases in jump racing. The fact that no other horse has achieved what the great Kauto Star did nearly 13 years ago shows you not only how special he was but also how competitive this division of jump racing is. It would be fantastic to crown a new king of our sport and a great story for racing fans to share with a wider audience."

- Paul Fisher, chief executive of Jockey Club Racecourses
