ZYSCOVICH WELCOMES BACK

TWO HIGH-CALIBER EXECUTIVES

FOR ITS EXPANDING ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN PRACTICE

IN CENTRAL FLORIDA

ARCHITECTS ALEXANDER PEREZ AND DAWN HETZER REJOIN ZYSCOVICH

ORLANDO, FL – (October 29, 2019) – ZYSCOVICH, a 120+ architecture and design firm with offices in Winter Park, West Palm Beach, Miami, New York City and Bogota, Colombia, announces the recruitment of two former senior executives: Alexander Perez CGC, LEED AP BD+C, LPCI, IESNA in the role of Regional Director, and Dawn Hetzer, AIA, LEED AP as Director of Operations.

Both Perez and Hetzer started off their professional careers as young architects at Zyscovich. Now, as seasoned architects, they rejoin the firm as key, senior-level executives with a solid track record of performance, increased fundamental knowledge about the totality of the industry and a renewed passion to help Zyscovich grow as an industry leader in the Central Florida market.

To further enhance the firm's overall capacity and capabilities, Zyscovich has been steadily increasing its workforce across all its regional offices by recruiting key personnel, that will reinforce the firm's commitment to providing an integrated and diverse set of skills and services to new and existing clients in the public and private sectors throughout Florida, and beyond.

The addition of these two professionals is part of the firm's overall Smart Growth objective and coincides with Zyscovich's tenth-anniversary of "Making People Places" in Central Florida.

"We recognize that our employees are our greatest assets. As a result of our recent growth and expanded workload across all disciplines, our practice called for seasoned, high-caliber executives to help us accelerate our business performance while providing continued value to our clients. We are thrilled to welcome back Alexander Perez and Dawn Hetzer to Zyscovich," said Bernard Zyscovich, FAIA, Founder and CEO of Zyscovich.

Perez rejoins the firm as Regional Director with a wealth of experience having held an executive role with Gate Precast Company, a nationally recognized construction management, and specialty façade fabrication firm. While at Gate, he served as a resource to the design community and was responsible for the company's business development, contract negotiations, estimating, site logistics and project management.

In addition to being a seasoned architect, Perez is a twenty-year veteran in the construction industry and is a licensed general contractor in Florida. Parallel to his architectural and construction field experience, Perez has also dedicated more than 15 years in academia ranging from roles as an adjunct professor for Miami Dade College's School of Architecture to participating as a volunteer in public school programs and hosting lectures as an invited guest speaker. As such, Perez has been regionally and nationally recognized for his involvement in forward-thinking projects that push the envelope of building technology for projects such as: FIU's Science Classroom Building, which houses a precast concrete façade with a pre-installed glazing system, University of Miami's Frost School of Music, which contains a self-cleaning prefabricated exterior façade, and Florida's first Gold LEED-certified project in the public-school system, Pine Jog Elementary, which was completed during Perez's 11 year tenure at Zyscovich.

"Bringing in a leader of Alexander's caliber, a strategic thinker who has a strong background in construction, fabrication, architecture, academia and technology will further enhance our firm's capabilities and give us a competitive advantage in Central Florida,"  said Jose Murguido, AIA, ALEP, Zyscovich's Corporate Vice President and Head of the Education Design Studio.

As Zyscovich's new Director of Operations in Central Florida, Dawn Hetzer's twenty-five years of business management experience, as both an architect and business entrepreneur, will improve the firm's effectiveness in working with private, public/government sector clients, consultants and contractors throughout the entire life cycle of a project.

Dawn Hetzer's return to Zyscovich has been met with great enthusiasm, added Murguido. "Her skillful experience in incorporating client's needs within aesthetically forward designs while integrating the latest architectural advancements is of high value to the firm."

Prior to Hetzer rejoining Zyscovich, Dawn spent three years working at Orlando based Cuhaci & Peterson Architects-Engineers as a Senior Project Architect. While there, she directed and oversaw timely and profitable completion of design, documentation and construction administration for hospitality, retail and business projects with a repeat client base.
