OGLETHORPE, Ga. - Oct. 28, 2019 - PRLog -- Oglethorpe, Ga. – ACA (A Community A-Fair) Nonprofit Organization will set up a Harvest Fair starting Thursday, October 31 through Sunday, November 3 at the Oglethorpe Police Department located at 500 Sumter Street Oglethorpe GA 31068.

"ACA was formed to assist young adults ages 17-35 with services such as resume writing, budgeting, job interview skills, marketing and more" said ACA founder and organizer Andrew Stringfellow, Jr.

Supporting other community based organizations is important to Stringfellow. "We select our beneficiaries due to need at the time. Some are selected on an as-needed basis where others are recommended to the nonprofit organization through other organizations and entities."

Oglethorpe Police Chief Rachael Hart and Oglethorpe Downtown Development Authority Director Natalie Bradley worked collaboratively to help the Harvest Fair to relocate to the City of Oglethorpe.

"We have been working to get more events to bring the people of Oglethorpe and Macon County to downtown Oglethorpe, and now we have a carnival that will help draw not only the people of Macon County to family friendly entertainment, but also people from surrounding areas. In addition, this will bring more spending dollars to our area that are always needed. Events like this will help not only drive traffic downtown but will also help restore civic and community pride. When we have events that promote a positive feeling about your hometown, it always yields wonderful results immediately as well as for months to come" said Oglethorpe Downtown Development Authority Director Natalie Bradley.

The G.E.N.T.S. Club and MCMS Athletic Program will be the 2019 beneficiaries of the Harvest Fair.  G.E.N.T.S. is short for Growing, Evolving, Nurturing, Teenagers for Success.

"Community policing is more than just telling officers to police differently—it's supporting events like this by working collaboratively with surrounding agencies so that citizens see all of us as community police officers" explained Chief Rachael Hart.

The hours for the Macon County Harvest Fair are as follows:  October 31 6pm-9pm, November 1 5pm-10pm, November 2 1pm-10pm and Sunday, November 3 1pm-9pm.  All carnival visitors will be screened through security checkpoints. Crisp County Sheriff's Department donated the use of its mobile command center and the City of Marshallville is assisting the City of Oglethorpe with providing officers to work the fair.

"Downtown Oglethorpe is also excited to partner with other programs that help our town while raising funds that help our community's nonprofit organizations. It's a huge success for everyone involved" said Oglethorpe Mayor Bruce Hill.
