Brittony Productions Has Wrapped Filming For The Pilot "HOOKED"

NEW YORK - Oct. 23, 2019 - PRLog -- (New York) BRITTONY PRODUCTIONS has just wrapped up the filming for the pilot, "HOOKED," shot entirely in New York. The shoot was self-financed by up-and-coming filmmaker Brittany Portman.

"HOOKED" began as a school project about an awkward girl in college who navigates the dating and social scenes,and morphed into a comedy web-series written and produced by Portman. The show came to life in 2018, when Miss Portman decided to create a series based on her own awkward college dating experiences. She shot half a dozen mini-episodes, and put it all together into a 25 minute short film; (see the trailer: https://vimeo.com/314387065);The short received amazing feedback, winning among others the February 2019 Top Shorts Film Festival, the Award of Excellence at the Global Shorts Los Angeles festival and the Award of Merit at the One-Reeler Short Film Competition.



That's when she decided to work on revamping the product and shoot new footage, digging deeper into the complexity of the characters. With that being said, Portman and her business partner, Anthony Patellis, (the other half of BRITTONY PRODUCTIONS, director and co-writer of "Hooked"), hired additional two writers (Rob Alicea and Scarlett A. Camargo) and wrote a new script. When it was finalized, Portman decided to do something very unusual in the world of indie filmmakers: hire big name talent to act in the new version of her pilot. She hired Casting Director Jennifer Rudin who managed to bring on board exceptional actors:

·       CATHERINE CURTIN - (Homeland, Stranger Things, Orange Is The New Black)

·       ANDY KARL - (Law & Order, Legally Blonde - The Musical)

·       ERIC CLOSE - (Nashville, Suits, Without A Trace, Now and Again)


After five days of shooting in beautiful Catskills New York, and two days of shooting in New York City, production has wrapped, and Hooked is now in postproduction. As soon as they got a final product, the team will start pitching the show to networks and studios.
