6th Annual Veterans Tribute Scheduled For November 7, 2019
WARMINSTER, Pa. - Oct. 23, 2019 - PRLog -- The Southeastern Pennsylvania Cold War Historical Society, a 501c(3) organization, will be sponsoring a the 6th Annual Veterans Tribute on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 7pm to 9pm at The Fuge, located at 780 Falcon Circle, Warminster, PA, 18974.
The Fuge housed the world's most powerful human centrifuge. It was used for research and training of military personnel and helped to prepare Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts such as John Glenn and Neil Armstrong for spaceflight. Today, it is a premier events center in Bucks County, PA.
"The Southeastern Pennsylvania Cold War Historical Society is thrilled to sponsor its Veterans Tribute, now incredibly in its sixth year! We believe that it is important to recognize and to thank those who have served our country with distinction, and we look forward to welcoming the public to our annual celebratory event," said Eleanor A. O'Rangers, President of the organization.
To commemorate Veterans Day, the Doylestown Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron 907 will open the event with a Presentation of Colors, followed by an invocation by former Naval Air Development Center alumnus Aris Pasles.
The keynote speaker this year will be Colonel Rick Kiernan (retired.) As a career Army officer, he served in combat in Vietnam and later, as a Colonel, served as a Pentagon Spokesman during the First Gulf War. Upon his retirement from the military, he served as Director of Press Operations and Public Information for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Artifacts from the Naval Air Development Center, including items related to centrifuge research, and other various items of historical interest, including aircraft models, Vietnam era radio equipment, and displays by the Warminster Historical Society, Warminster Library, Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum, and others will be displayed during the event.
The Veterans Tribute is free and open to the public. Light fare and drinks will be provided.
