Margaret Lynch named Volunteer Coordinator for South Shore Habitat for Humanity

HANOVER, Mass. - Oct. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- South Shore Habitat for Humanity (http://sshabitat.org), which has delivered quality housing in partnership with families in need for the past 33 years, has named Margaret Lynch as Volunteer Coordinator.

In this role, Lynch will focus on recruiting, retaining and recognizing volunteers across a wide range of opportunities. A native of Dorchester, Lynch earned a degree in Marketing from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University. She was previously the Director of Physician Relations for the South Shore Hospital and then Director of Physician Network Development for Partners HealthCare.

A resident of Norwell, Lynch began volunteering for Habitat for Humanity while working as a Health Care Consultant in Naples, FL.  She began volunteering with South Shore Habitat for Humanity three years ago in a number of ways including speaking to area groups on ways to volunteer.

Currently South Shore Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers at Restore in Hanover, MA, which sells gently used furniture, home décor and building supplies. Volunteers are also needed to assist with administrative work at the office in Weymouth. About South Shore Habitat for Humanity

The Mission of South Shore Habitat for Humanity is to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter by partnering with families in need of affordable housing.  Families put in "sweat equity hours" alongside local volunteers on the building of their home and purchase the home with a 30-year, affordable mortgage. Homes do have a deed restriction that maintains the affordability status of each home in perpetuity.

The organization's headquarters are located at 20 Mathewson Drive in Weymouth, MA but they serve 35 cities and towns south and southwest of Boston. To date, South Shore Habitat for Humanity has delivered 64 homes to local families on the South Shore. Currently, the organization has a strategic plan to build twelve homes by 2020, which is on pace to deliver another 58 homes in a little less than a decade.
