DANIEL TRUSH & His Father KEN TRUSH of Daniel's Music Foundation (DMF) Located in Harlem Joins Hosts Alex Alexander & Ginger Broderick to Discuss Their Music Programs for Individuals with Disabilities. Friday, Oct 25, 2019, Spectrum 34 & HD 1995, 2pm
In 1997, at the age of 12, one of five aneurysms burst inside his brain. His doctors did not expect him to survive, but he proved them wrong. Music in various forms played a critical role in every phase of his recovery. From the songs that kept him connected to reality during his coma, to the keyboard playing that helped him regain his motor skills; and even the music history class he took that ultimately inspired him to help others.
Ken Trush: Co-Founder of the Foundation and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ken works closely with Daniel and the DMF staff, in the development of the music programs and in the marketing, development and administrative areas of the foundation. He developed the concept of "The Danny Awards" during the summer of 2019, which will take place on March 8, 2020 at Symphony Space. When not working at DMF, he is a partner at Spring Advisors an advisory firm that specializes in marketing, design and communication agencies.
