The Big Autumn Eat: Don't Miss Food & Drink Fortnight in the New Forest
By: Go New Forest
Aimed at residents and visitors alike, the festival fortnight gets underway right in the heart of the New Forest with 'Eats n Treats'; a local produce market at Brockenhurst College, where everyone can try, buy and learn about local food, drink and craft, with live music and chef demonstrations throughout the day.
All food & drink fortnight events salute the growing number of New Forest farmers and producers who work hard all year round to provide the delicious range of special local food and drink which populate the menus of the area's hospitality industry and retail outlets.
All this wonderful and sometimes completely unique produce is in turn created into sumptuous dishes by our passionate and talented chefs, cooks and bakers and then served in the destination's many high-quality pubs, hotels, restaurants, cafes and tearooms.
Food & Drink Fortnight events take one or more of 15 festival themes such as the forest's unique and sensational Pannage Pork, Cheese & the Forest Larder, Firework Night Feasts, For the Kids Our Future Foodies, Forest Fish & Fruits of our Sea, Glorious Game & Roaring Fires, Sip & Savour and Heritage, Artisan & Charcuterie.
Vegetarians are very much included with themes including The New Forest Forager, The Vegetarian Forest Feast, Sweet Forest Somethings and The Very English Afternoon Tea.
